Seventh (Final) Grand Prix TournamentThe seventh tournament of the season, GP#7, will be held on
April 19, 2008 at Doral Middle School.

Registration is now open for GP#7.
All tournament registration will be done online at miamichess.org. All players must pre-register in order to play the first round. Registration will begin the first Saturday prior to the tournament. Pre-registration deadline is the Friday before the tournament at 4:00pm. If not registered on time the player will enter in the second round with a half point bye. Thank you for all your help and support in making PCS tournaments some of the largest monthly scholastic tournaments in the country. Special thanks to Doral Middle School for agreeing to host all of this year's PCS Grand Prix tournaments. Also, special thanks to Andy Ramos, the District Chess Coordinator for his tremendous support for scholastic chess. We would also like to announce that PCS's IM Renier Gonzalez has made his 3rd GM norm and is now Grandmaster Renier Gonzalez! Also, Gilberto Luna II the new FSCL Commissioner is no longer working for Excalibur Electronics and the World Chess Hall of Fame and can now dedicate himself full time to Professional Chess Services. General InformatiomProfessional Chess Services tournaments will be run by Gilberto Luna II and Grandmaster Renier Gonzalez. The tournaments will begin at 9:00am sharp and will consist of 5 rounds. There is no elimination; each player will be able to play all 5 rounds. There are 6 divisions that the students will be eligible to play in: K-1, K-3, K-5, K-8, K-12, and the non-member division. The non-member division gives players who are not USCF members the opportunity to play. The main tournament will be USCF rated and is for USCF members only. Trophies will be given out after each tournament. All players must be USCF members (except for the non-member division). There will be no exceptions made. With all players members the tournament can be rated within a few hours. You can register for USCF membership by mail, or online at www.uschess.org. On-site USCF registration will be available as well. The entry fee for the tournament will be $10 per child per tournament. There is a discount rate of $8 per tournament if the season is paid for in advance. The total would be $56 for the season. Professional Chess Services is a Dade County Vendor, please call for the number. PCS tournaments are open to both public and private schools. Players must attend the school that they are playing for. Teammates will not have to play against each other. We are also looking for volunteers to help us with the tournaments. Please feel free to contact us if you are willing to help out.
